Death by Taxi
021111
Getting run over by a speeding taxi seems to be like a painful death, however you can also experience the same now while looking at the taxi meter as you see your money speed past you by.
We all know that taxi fares have come up. The original PHP30 flagdown + PHP2.50 per kilometer was already painful enough but the PHP40 flagdown +PHP3 per kilometer is absolutely worse than a root canal. And trust me, i know because I've experienced both.
My usual cab fare of PHP 130 + tip has now gone up to PHP 180. One taxicab fare is enough for 1 Venti Caramel Macchiato or a single screening of a movie of choice or a magazine of choice. Trust me, a PHP50 difference counts a lot especially if you weren't born with a silver spoon.
I have no option but to take a cab because as much as I love walking, attempting to walk from Fort Bonifacio Taguig to Timog Quezon City at two in the morning is either suicidal or a death wish.
This I ask, will we? the citizens of this country endure such travails of price increases while some of us don't even experience pay raises? Will the government do anything to assist the commuters in their plight to work, provide for their families, get to work to and fro safely and survive? Is it fair to all parties concerned? Maybe the price increase is a ploy to brainwash everyone to stop taking cabs and protect the environment from emissions from motor vehicles. Maybe bicycle companies are behind this to increase their sales. And if you've read until this part, this is me writing in jibberish because I'm already hungry... because my cab fare took my PHP50 which I was supposed to use to buy me a sandwich!

Food Review: Gumbo's Roast Pork
01.27.11
So I treated myself to a very late lunch today. And when I say late, I mean 4:30 in the afternoon. I went to Gumbo! A taste of New Orleans Style Food in SM North Edsa, the BLOCK.
I was attended to by Mark who was very attentive and also cute.. hahahah.
I had Gumbo's Roast Pork which is seasoned pork ribs, roasted with Bourbon style BBQ sauce, with side orders of coleslaw and mixed vegetables. I do have a soft spot for BBQ!
Rate it!
Food Presentation: quite nice, served on plain white dish to highlight the different colors
Food Taste: very aromatic roast pork, coleslaw is quite good, spicy surprise in the mixed vegetables (it's the cayenne pepper!)
Cost: Php 425, not for everyday luncheon unless you are an heir or scion to a business, member of the mafia or something
Happiness factor: quite happy.
Will you try it again: is anyone treating? then the answer is Yes.

I am very picky when it comes to my music choices but there is one OPM artist that I will forever adore. She has been my constant company in and out of love. She accompanied my tired soul and broken heart in a six hour ride to Baguio when I needed to heal. I have seen her sing numerous times live in concert. She has amazed me even more when she sang Aerosmiths' "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" even with a squeaky speaking voice in Araneta Coliseum during her Anniversary concert . She has captured my heart and I will forever be a fan. Not a stalker. A fan.
I heart Regine Velasquez! Ate Reg! love love love!
Please buy her latest album. Buy! not download for free. Buy! Best PHP500.00 usage of your life. You have two options to choose from: the B&W version or the colored one. I bought the B&W version and the postcards inside the box is simply AAAAAAAMAZING!

Of Bomb Blasts and Bomb Threats
01.27.11
Persons who, without any reasonable doubt have been found guilty of inflicting unjust, uncalled for, and unreasonable hurt and pain to innocent civilians should have all orifices in their body filled with kerosene and lighted with fire in public. But before that is done to them, they should be forced to wear yellow and black stripes and should be used as car stoppers ("kalso") in ramped parking spaces in the metro.
Innocent lives have been lost because these a-holes make it their own vendetta to de-stabilize the country. We are already living in a third world country. Their stupidity will create a potential fourth level. Will our slogan be "Philippines, the first fourth of its kind!"? Not exactly visitor friendly. If our country is already "going to the dogs" will this in turn create a new catch phrase? How about "going to the cockroaches?" Flying ipis anyone? Eeeew. De-stabilizing the peace and order will not get you what you want. It will get you killed. Because once the Filipino people know who, what, and where you are, we will use "Bayanihan" to beat the crap out of you.
In my dream world, criminals like these are forced to write "I'm sorry, I will not do this again" (as public apology) using their own blood for ink and their fingers as pens in Commonwealth Avenue. It will be a supervised public apology with media coverage and legit race car drivers are allowed to use them as road cones. If they get hit, then that's their problem. If they survive, we go with Plan B, with an environmental twist, we use their bodies like a filtering system to clean the Pasig River (water comes in whichever hole and gets out of the other.)...we can only dream.
I pray for the families of the victims because they have to endure the trauma of losing their loved ones. It will never be easy, especially since their departure from this world was senseless and inflicted by terrorists. Lives have been lost and dreams shattered. These are things that can never be replaced again.
Makes you wonder. Is there still hope for the Philippines? Our beloved Motherland?

Hello Blog World!
1.24.11
Finally! After consulting with my insane self and getting the buy in of the 7 other insane beings inside of me, we have come to a conclusion to publish my private thoughts to the public world and to NOT forever hold my peace. Freedom of speech is a right and should be used and exercised.
This blog aptly entitled PINKphenomenon, is a mish mash of musings (therefore could be random thoughts or well thought of discussion points or thoughts that are born out of ennui), events and places (because I love going out, getting lost, and finding little nooks and crannies in the metro), and anything under the sun which I think will be beneficial not only to me but to that of you the readers (in short, because I write interesting stuff, hahahahah!).
Anything that is written here CANNOT be used against me (they are first and foremost personal thoughts, and you reading it is a violation of my personal space, it's like you reading my diary, so if I find you reading my diary and republishing it or creating gossip from it, I have all the right to rip the pages and fist it down your throat or any other orifice in your body, take a wild guess, charot!) or else I will call upon the revenge of Mother Earth Gaia and pray that you die of diarrhea (clap, clap, clap!).
I will also purposely misspell some words and write some run on sentences. Just to make sure that you read and comment like crazy.
So enjoy, have fun, sit back and relax. Welcome to the wonderful world of PINKphenomenon!
P.S.
To the future detractors of this Blog, you may go home to your father... Go to Hell!...and stay there!
